Four Star Certificate System
The Four Star Certificate is the main training qualification system for TTCF cadets. Cadets progress through military disciplines, earning qualifications from Star One through Star Four, culminating in the prestigious Master Cadet rank. Each level unlocks new skills, leadership responsibilities, and promotion opportunities.
Training Progression
Star One Certificate
Foundation level - basic drill, uniform standards, cadet knowledge, physical fitness, and introduction to military values and discipline.
Star Two Certificate
Intermediate skills - advanced drill, map reading basics, first aid introduction, weapon handling principles, and junior leadership tasks.
Star Three Certificate
Advanced training - field craft, navigation and orienteering, communications, tactical exercises, and section commander responsibilities.
Star Four Certificate
Senior qualification - platoon leadership, advanced tactics, instructor skills, mentoring junior cadets, and preparation for Master Cadet.
Master Cadet Rank
Highest achievement - demonstrated excellence across all disciplines, sustained leadership, mentorship, and exemplary conduct. Master Cadets serve as senior leaders and role models.

President Award Scheme
The Trinidad and Tobago Cadet Force participates in the President Award Scheme, equivalent to the Duke of Edinburgh Award from the United Kingdom - a prestigious youth achievement programme recognising excellence across service, skills, physical recreation, and adventurous journeys.
Bronze Award (Age 14+)
Entry level achievement requiring 3-6 months commitment across all award sections
Silver Award (Age 15+)
Intermediate level requiring 6-12 months commitment and increased challenge
Gold Award (Age 16+)
Highest achievement requiring 12-18 months dedication and residential adventurous journey
