Cadet Medals
Best Cadet Medal
Annual award for overall excellence across all disciplines
Awarded to the cadet who demonstrates exceptional performance in drill, academics, leadership, physical fitness, and character throughout the year. Nominated by unit commanders and selected by battalion board.
Achieved highest marks in all training modules, led winning drill team, and organised community food drive that served 500 families. Now studying engineering at UWI on full scholarship.
Marksman Medal
Rifle shooting competition excellence
Awarded to cadets scoring 95% or higher in annual marksmanship competition. Requires consistent performance across multiple shooting disciplines and strict adherence to range safety protocols.
Perfect score at national championships, represented Trinidad at Caribbean shooting competition, won gold medal. Youngest cadet to achieve expert marksman qualification in TTCF history.
Leadership Excellence Medal
Outstanding leadership qualities and mentorship
Recognises cadets who demonstrate exceptional leadership through platoon command, mentoring junior cadets, and initiative in developing new training programmes. Requires minimum one year as NCO.
Transformed struggling platoon into battalion's top unit through innovative training methods. Created peer mentoring system adopted across all battalions. Led 15 community service projects.
Community Service Medal
Exceptional community contribution and volunteer service
Awarded for completing minimum 100 hours of verified community service and demonstrating significant positive impact on local communities through cadet-led initiatives.
Organised disaster relief after flooding, coordinated youth literacy programme in underserved area, led beach cleanup removing 2 tons of waste. Logged 250+ volunteer hours.
Caribbean Cadet Medal
Regional camp participation and excellence
Awarded to cadets selected to represent Trinidad and Tobago at biennial Caribbean Cadet Camp who demonstrate excellence in training, cultural exchange, and inter-island cooperation.
Selected for Caribbean Camp in Barbados, won best drill cadet award among 200+ regional participants. Led cultural presentation showcasing steelpan tradition, fostering Caribbean unity.
Drill Competition Medal
Precision drill team achievements and ceremonial excellence
Awarded to drill team members achieving gold standard at inter-battalion competitions. Requires flawless execution of complex drill sequences and exemplary turnout.
Led championship drill team scoring perfect 100/100 at national competition. Performed at Independence Day parade before Head of State, representing TTCF excellence on national stage.
Adult Service Medals
Long Service Medal
10 years of dedicated volunteer service
Awarded to officers and adult volunteers completing 10 years continuous service. Recognises sustained commitment to youth development and maintaining operational readiness of cadet units.
Decade of service including deployment to three battalions, trained over 300 cadets, pioneered wilderness survival programme now used nationally. Mentored 12 cadets who became officers.
Meritorious Service Medal
20 years of exceptional leadership and dedication
Awarded to officers with 20 years exemplary service demonstrating extraordinary leadership, innovation in cadet programmes, and significant contribution to TTCF national development.
Two decades building battalion from 50 to 400 cadets, established Naval division, created scholarship fund, mentored 25 officers. Over 80% of his cadets pursued higher education.
Commandant's Commendation
Outstanding contribution to cadet development
Personally awarded by TTCF Commandant for exceptional achievements exceeding normal duties. Recognises officers demonstrating innovation, excellence, and transformational impact.
Developed national-level first aid training programme adopted by all battalions. Secured corporate partnerships funding equipment for 8 units. Created digital training platform during pandemic.
Officer Training Excellence Award
Superior instructor capabilities and teaching excellence
Awarded to officers demonstrating exceptional instructional skills, innovative training methodologies, and consistently high cadet performance outcomes in their specialisation areas.
Master instructor in navigation and fieldcraft. His cadets achieved 100% pass rate at advanced assessment. Created training manual now standard across Caribbean cadet forces.
Caribbean Cadet Medal (Adult)
Regional training exchange leadership
Awarded to officers selected to lead TTCF delegations at Caribbean Cadet Camp, demonstrating excellence in regional cooperation, training delivery, and representing Trinidad and Tobago.
Led 50-cadet delegation to regional camp, coordinated inter-island training exercises, fostered lasting partnerships with 5 Caribbean nations. Enhanced TTCF regional reputation.
Centenary Medal
Special 100th anniversary commemoration (2010)
Special one-time award presented during TTCF 100th anniversary celebrations to serving officers and adult volunteers in recognition of their contribution to organizational legacy.
Served as Commandant during centenary year, led national celebrations including historic parade attended by President. Oversaw expansion to 75 schools and modernisation of training systems.

Caribbean Cadet Camp
